Experience London Philharmonic Orchestra live on December 7th
The London Philharmonic Orchestra will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on December 7, 2026. The London Philharmonic Orchestra is renowned for its versatility, encompassing a broad repertoire from standard classical works to contemporary compositions and film scores. Founded in 1932 by Sir Thomas Beecham, the orchestra has a long history of recording and broadcasting, and is consistently ranked among the world’s leading orchestral ensembles. They are known for a characteristically rich and expressive sound.
The Elbphilharmonie, opened in January 2017, is a concert hall in the HafenCity district of Hamburg. Constructed atop an existing warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – its distinctive glass structure and wave-like roof have made it a landmark building. The hall’s acoustics were designed by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming for a “white canvas” sound allowing for natural amplification and clarity. It houses the Grand Hall (Elbphilharmonie Hall) with seating for 2,100, and the smaller Recital Hall. The building's construction faced significant delays and cost overruns but has since become celebrated as an architectural achievement and a significant cultural venue for Hamburg and Germany.
