Lahav Shani is an Israeli-born conductor and pianist known for a deeply insightful and often emotionally charged approach to repertoire. His interpretations frequently emphasize clarity of texture and a meticulous attention to detail, while simultaneously allowing for expressive freedom. He is particularly recognized for his compelling performances of Romantic and early 20th-century works, as well as a growing interest in contemporary compositions. He currently serves as Chief Conductor of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and Principal Guest Conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.

The concert will take place at the Berliner Philharmonie, a renowned concert hall steeped in musical history. Completed in 1963, it was designed by Hans Scharoun, notable for its unconventional, tent-like architecture intended to foster a uniquely intimate relationship between performers and audience.
