Lahav Shani is an internationally acclaimed Israeli conductor and pianist, renowned for his dynamic leadership and profound musical insight. Born in 1989 in Tel Aviv, Shani began his musical journey as a gifted pianist before transitioning to conducting, where he quickly garnered global recognition. He studied at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music in Tel Aviv and later honed his craft under distinguished mentors.

Shani’s conducting style is celebrated for its clarity, emotional depth, and meticulous attention to orchestral detail, blending tradition with fresh interpretative perspectives. His repertoire spans from classical symphonies to contemporary works, demonstrating versatility and a keen understanding of diverse musical languages.

Career highlights include his appointment as Music Director of the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in 2018, making him one of the youngest conductors to lead a major European orchestra. Additionally, he serves as Chief Conductor of the Munich Philharmonic since 2021. Shani has also been principal conductor of the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra since 2016.
