Kian Soltani Concerts
Kian Soltani is a critically acclaimed cellist of international repute, known for his profound musicality and technical prowess. Born in 1992 into a family of Persian musicians in Bregenz, Austria, Soltani began playing cello at the age of four. He was accepted into the prestigious University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna at just twelve years old.
Soltani's unique style blends Western classical techniques with a subtle infusion of his Persian heritage, creating an evocative and deeply emotive sound. His performances are characterized by their intensity, precision, and expressiveness, which have captivated audiences worldwide.
His career took off after winning the Karl Davidoff International Cello Competition in 2013. This led to numerous engagements with renowned orchestras like the Berlin Philharmonic and Vienna Philharmonic. In 2017, he was awarded the prestigious Leonard Bernstein Award at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival.
In addition to his performance career, Soltani has made significant contributions to recorded music. His debut album on Deutsche Grammophon, "Home," featuring works by Schubert and Schumann as well as a piece by Iranian composer Reza Vali, received widespread critical acclaim.
Soltani's talent extends beyond performing; he is also an accomplished educator. He served as a professor at the Basel Music Academy from 2017-2018.
