Taper Auditorium is located within the Paul G. Allen Center for Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington. Originally constructed in 1927 as part of the original engineering building complex, it underwent significant renovation and reopened in 2014 following a substantial gift from Paul G. Allen. The auditorium was designed with acoustics in mind from its inception; it was initially intended for lectures but quickly became known for its excellent sound quality making it suitable for musical performances. It now serves as a venue for a variety of events including concerts, lectures, and film screenings; hosting both university affiliated and external performances.
