Igor Levit will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on October 14, 2026. The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse structure (the Kaispeicher A), it has quickly become a landmark architectural achievement and one of Europe’s leading concert halls. Designed by Swiss architects Herzog & de Meuron, its distinctive glass facade reflects the city and harbor. The building houses the primary Grand Hall with seating for 2,100 people, the smaller Recital Hall, and residential apartments. Its acoustic design was overseen by Yasuhisa Toyota, aiming for a natural sound that enhances both orchestral and solo performances.
