Henk Neven, a Dutch composer and performer, will present a concert at Nieuwe Kerk in The Hague on February 12, 2027. Neven’s musical style is rooted in minimalist composition, often incorporating elements of ambient and electronic music with a focus on sustained tones and evolving textures. His work frequently explores the interplay between acoustic instruments – particularly piano and organ – and synthesized sounds, creating immersive and contemplative soundscapes. He is known for site-specific compositions that respond to the architectural qualities of performance spaces.

Nieuwe Kerk (New Church), The Hague, holds significant historical and cultural importance. Originally constructed between 1649 and 1654, it was intended as a church for the growing Protestant population unable to be accommodated in the Binnenhof’s chapel. Though initially serving a religious function, Nieuwe Kerk transitioned into a space for state functions and ceremonies following the Dutch Republic's establishment. It has been the traditional location for Prince’s Days (Prinsjesdag), the annual state opening of the Dutch parliament, since 1796.
