Experience Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra live on November 6th
Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra is recognized for its broad repertoire encompassing classical and contemporary works, with a particular emphasis on Finnish composers like Jean Sibelius. The orchestra consistently receives acclaim for its technical precision and expressive interpretations, often noted for a characteristic Nordic sound – clear, balanced, and emotionally resonant. Founded in 1882, it holds the distinction of being Finland’s oldest professional orchestra.
The concert on November 6th, 2026 will take place at Musiikkitalo Helsinki (Helsinki Music Centre). Completed in 1972, Musiikkitalo is Finland’s primary concert hall and a significant architectural landmark. Designed by Erkki Sarkinen, its acoustics are highly regarded internationally and were developed in collaboration with acoustician Yrjö Sotamaa. The building features two main halls: the larger Concert Hall seating approximately 1,700 people and the smaller Paavo Berglund Hall.
Musiikkitalo isn't solely a performance venue; it also houses the Sibelius Academy (part of Uniarts Helsinki) and provides spaces for music education and research.
