Experience Ensemble Resonanz live on December 16th
Ensemble Resonanz is a Hamburg-based chamber orchestra renowned for its innovative approach to classical and contemporary music. The ensemble frequently commissions new works and explores unconventional concert formats, often blurring the lines between genres and incorporating elements of improvisation and multimedia. They are particularly known for their interpretations of 20th and 21st-century composers alongside established repertoire, emphasizing clarity of sound and a distinctive, emotionally resonant performance style.
Laieszhalle, the venue for the December 16th, 2026 concert, holds a significant place in Hamburg’s cultural history. Originally constructed in 1908 as a public bathhouse (“Laieszhalle” translates roughly to “Layes Hall”), it was designed in the Art Nouveau style by architect Martin Döhring. Following extensive damage during World War II, it underwent reconstruction and was repurposed as a concert hall in 1960. The hall is noted for its excellent acoustics and intimate atmosphere, seating approximately 700 people. It has hosted numerous internationally acclaimed musicians and ensembles since its reopening, becoming a central location for chamber music performances within the city.
