Experience Doric String Quartet live on October 25th

The Doric String Quartet is scheduled to perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on October 25, 2026. The quartet is recognized for its interpretations of classical and romantic repertoire, noted for clarity of texture, refined phrasing, and a consistently warm tonal quality. They frequently perform the complete Beethoven string quartets and are known for their insightful and emotionally engaging performances across a broad range of composers including Mozart, Schubert, and Britten.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – it has become a landmark architectural achievement and a major cultural venue. Its design, by Herzog & de Meuron, incorporates brick, glass, and a distinctive curved roof structure. The Great Hall is renowned for its exceptional acoustics achieved through the “White Skin” – a gypsum fiber acoustic shell designed by Yasuhisa Toyota. The building houses not only the concert halls but also a hotel and residential apartments, making it a multi-functional urban space overlooking the Port of Hamburg. It is managed by the Hamburg Free and Hanseatic City government.
