Classical Concerts in Hamburg

Experience Daniel Hope live on September 30th

Daniel Hope will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg on September 30, 2026. Hope is a violinist known for a repertoire spanning classical, crossover, and contemporary works. His performances frequently incorporate elements of jazz, folk, and popular music alongside traditional concertos and sonatas, often showcasing his own arrangements and compositions. He is recognized for his engaging stage presence and commitment to making classical music accessible to wider audiences.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 after a decade of construction and significant cost overruns. Built atop an existing warehouse – the Kaispeicher A – it has become a landmark architectural achievement and a major cultural venue for Hamburg. Its design, by Herzog & de Meuron, features a striking glass facade built around the historic brick structure.

The concert hall within is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through the “White Skin” interior designed by Yasuhisa Toyota; this utilizes a custom-designed scattering system to distribute sound evenly throughout the space. The building also houses a hotel, residential apartments and public viewing platforms offering panoramic views of the city and harbor. It hosts a diverse program of orchestral concerts, chamber music performances, and other events.
