The Czech Philharmonic will perform at the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, Germany on April 13, 2027. Established in 1891, the Czech Philharmonic is renowned for its distinctive sound, often characterized by a rich string tone and a passionate, lyrical approach to interpretation. The orchestra’s repertoire spans from the Baroque period to contemporary works, with a particular emphasis on showcasing Czech composers like Antonín Dvořák, Bedřich Smetana, and Leoš Janáček. Throughout its history, it has maintained a tradition of artistic independence and a commitment to high performance standards.

The Elbphilharmonie itself opened in January 2017 and stands as a landmark architectural achievement. Constructed atop a historic warehouse (“Kaispeicher A”) in the HafenCity district, the building features an innovative design by Herzog & de Meuron. Its most prominent feature is the “Plaza,” a public viewing platform offering panoramic views of the city and harbor. The concert hall within is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through the design work of Yasuhisa Toyota.
