Conor Hanick will perform a solo piano concert at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Washington on October 16, 2026. Hanick is a pianist recognized for his interpretations of both standard repertoire and contemporary compositions. His performances often highlight a meticulous attention to detail and a dynamic range, frequently incorporating works by composers like György Ligeti alongside more traditional pieces by figures such as Beethoven and Schubert. He is known for thoughtful programming that explores connections across musical eras.
Benaroya Hall, which opened in 1998, serves as the home of the Seattle Symphony and a major performing arts venue in the city. Designed by LMN Architects and acoustician Russell Johnson, the hall was conceived to address the need for a dedicated orchestral performance space in Seattle. Its design incorporates a “shoe box” shape considered optimal for acoustic clarity, along with adjustable elements to tailor the sound for different ensembles. The hall’s construction was funded through a public-private partnership, including significant philanthropic contributions from Jack Benaroya, after whom it is named. It hosts a diverse range of performances beyond orchestral concerts, including chamber music, ballet, and popular music events.
