Collegium 1704, a Czech ensemble specializing in Baroque music, will perform at Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona on March 20, 2027. The group is renowned for its historically informed performances, utilizing period instruments and focusing on rediscovering and performing works from the 17th and 18th centuries, particularly those of Czech composers. Their interpretations emphasize stylistic authenticity and dynamic expression characteristic of the Baroque era.

Palau de la Música Catalana, completed in 1908, is a concert hall designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner, a leading figure of Catalan Modernisme (Art Nouveau). It’s recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is celebrated for its opulent architectural features. These include stained glass, mosaics, sculptures and an inverted cupola over the main hall which provides natural light. Originally conceived as a venue for choral societies—specifically Orfeó Català—the Palau quickly became a symbol of Catalan culture and identity.
