Hélène Grimaud, a French pianist renowned for her intensely poetic and deeply individual interpretations, will perform at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona on May 18, 2027. The Palau de la Música Catalana, inaugurated in 1908, is a modernist concert hall designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It’s recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and stands as a prime example of Catalan Modernisme. The building’s design incorporates stained glass, sculpture, mosaics and ornate ironwork – all intended to create a total art experience. Natural light plays a crucial role within the hall; a central skylight featuring a stained-glass inverted peacock tail illuminates the main auditorium.
