The Anvil, located in Basingstoke, Hampshire, is a modern performing arts venue that opened in 1998. It serves as the principal theatre for the Borough of Basingstoke and Deane. The building was designed by architects Cullum & Nightingale and replaced the older, smaller Haymarket Theatre. Its main auditorium seats approximately 600 people and hosts a diverse programme including orchestral concerts, theatre productions, dance performances, comedy shows and conferences. The venue’s design prioritises acoustics and accessibility. It is noted for its flexible space allowing for varied stage configurations.
