Angela Hewitt will perform at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on May 20, 2027. Hewitt is a Canadian pianist internationally renowned for her interpretations of Bach, particularly his keyboard works. Her playing is characterized by clarity, precision, and a deeply considered understanding of Baroque structure, while also demonstrating a lyrical quality and emotional depth that extends to her performances of other composers including Chopin, Mozart and Schumann. She is known for performing on the Fazioli piano, favouring its responsiveness and tonal qualities.

Bridgewater Hall opened in September 1996 and is Manchester’s international concert hall. Designed by Renton, Eggert & Associates and Arup Acoustics, it was specifically engineered to provide exceptional acoustic performance. The hall’s vineyard-style seating arrangement – where the audience surrounds the orchestra on all sides – contributes to this renowned acoustics. It is home to the Hallé Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and Manchester Camerata, hosting over 250 performances annually spanning classical music, contemporary works, jazz and other genres. The hall's interior features maple wood and incorporates natural light through a glass dome.
