Alinde Quintet will perform at St Agnes’ Convent in Prague, Czechia on April 1st, 2027. The ensemble is recognized for its interpretations of early music, specifically focusing on compositions from the Medieval and Renaissance periods. Their performances frequently feature vocal polyphony alongside instrumental arrangements utilizing historically informed performance practices – meaning they strive to recreate sounds and techniques authentic to the music’s original context. The group draws repertoire from a variety of sources including liturgical dramas, secular songs and instrumental dances.

St Agnes’ Convent (Anežský klášter) holds significant historical importance within Prague. Founded in the early 13th century by Princess Agnes of Bohemia (Saint Agnes), it was the first house of the Poor Clares order in Bohemia. The convent complex served not only as a religious center but also as a haven for learning and artistic endeavors throughout its history. Heavily damaged during the Hussite Wars in 1420, it fell into disrepair and was largely abandoned for centuries. Extensive reconstruction took place in the late 1980s and early 1990s, restoring much of the original Gothic architecture.
