Hill Auditorium, opened in 1913, is the largest performance space on the University of Michigan campus. Designed by Albert Kahn, it’s renowned for its exceptional acoustics – achieved through its specific dimensions and use of materials – and has hosted a wide range of performances including orchestral concerts, choral works, lectures, and dance recitals. The auditorium’s architecture features a neo-classical design with Italian Renaissance influences. It underwent a significant renovation completed in 2023 which focused on improving accessibility and enhancing the building's infrastructure while preserving its historical character. The venue holds approximately 3,572 seats and is a designated State Historic Site.
