The Howard Assembly Room is a restored music hall located within the Grand Theatre in Leeds. Originally built in 1878 as a temperance hall – a space for public meetings and entertainment without alcohol – it served various functions throughout its history including as a courtroom and storage space. A significant restoration project completed in 2008 returned the room to its original purpose as a performance venue.

The space is noted for its intimate atmosphere and excellent acoustics, making it suitable for a range of musical performances including chamber music, jazz, folk, and contemporary classical concerts. It's designed in a horseshoe shape with ornate plasterwork and retains many of its original Victorian features contributing to its unique character. The venue is operated by Opera North but hosts events beyond operatic productions.
