VOCES8, the acclaimed British vocal ensemble, is scheduled to perform at Gloucester Cathedral on July 25, 2026. The group is known for its diverse repertoire spanning classical, jazz, pop and contemporary vocal music, delivered with a signature blend of technical precision and expressive artistry. Their performances frequently feature unaccompanied works alongside arrangements and original compositions.

Gloucester Cathedral boasts a rich history originating from the founding of an abbey in 679 AD by Osric, a Mercian prince. The current building largely dates from the Norman period onwards, with significant rebuilding occurring between the 11th and 15th centuries. It is renowned as one of the finest examples of Norman architecture in Britain and contains a particularly impressive Gothic east end.

The Cathedral served as a Benedictine monastery for over 800 years before becoming a cathedral in 1541 during the Dissolution of the Monasteries. Notable architectural features include its magnificent fan vaulting – completed in the early 16th century – and its Great East Window, one of the largest examples of stained glass in Britain.
