Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) in The Hague serves as a significant historical and cultural landmark. Originally consecrated in 1654, it was built as a replacement for the medieval church destroyed during the siege of Leiden in 1574. While traditionally a Protestant church, Nieuwe Kerk ceased functioning as a regular place of worship in 1996.
