Experience Tigran Hamasyan live on July 26th
Tigran Hamasyan will perform at Gas Holder, Berlin on July 26, 2026. Hamasyan is an Armenian pianist and composer whose music blends Armenian folk melodies, jazz improvisation, and elements of progressive rock and classical music. His style is characterized by complex harmonic structures, virtuosic piano playing, and often incorporates traditional Armenian instruments and vocal techniques. He frequently explores themes of cultural identity and spirituality within his compositions.
Gas Holder (Gasholder) is a former gasometer located in the Landschaftspark Storkwitz in Treptow-Köpenick, Berlin. Originally constructed in 1874 as part of Berlin’s municipal gasworks, it fell into disuse following the shift to natural gas in the 1960s. The structure was subsequently preserved as an industrial monument and repurposed as a unique venue for concerts and events starting in the early 2000s.
The venue's distinctive circular architecture provides a specific acoustic environment due to its domed roof and steel framework. It's known for hosting a diverse range of musical performances, particularly those benefiting from its large capacity and atmospheric setting.
