Thomas Quasthoff, a renowned German bass-baritone, will perform at the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona on October 20, 2026. Quasthoff is celebrated for his interpretations of Lieder, particularly those by Schubert and Brahms, as well as his performances in operatic roles such as Wotan and Sarastro. His vocal style is characterized by rich tone, exceptional phrasing, and a profound emotional depth; he retired from operatic performance in 2012 but continues to concertize with a focus on song repertoire.

The Palau de la Música Catalana, completed in 1908, is a modernist concert hall designed by Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It stands as a prime example of Catalan Modernisme, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.
