The Sixteen, a highly regarded British vocal ensemble, will perform at Greyfriars Charteris Centre: Binks Hall in Edinburgh on October 18, 2026. The group is known for its performance of Renaissance polyphony, as well as a broad repertoire spanning from medieval to contemporary choral music, often performing unaccompanied. They are particularly celebrated for their interpretations of composers such as Palestrina, Victoria, and Tallis, alongside commissioning new works.

Greyfriars Charteris Centre occupies buildings with a long history connected to Greyfriars Kirk and the surrounding Greyfriars Kirkyard. Binks Hall itself is located within the former Greyfriars Parish Hall, constructed in 1888 by the architect James Macpherson. Originally serving as a social and community space for the parish, it underwent significant restoration in the early 2000s following a period of disuse. The restoration aimed to preserve its Victorian architectural features while adapting it for use as a concert and event venue. The hall is noted for its intimate acoustic and historical atmosphere within the wider complex which now functions as a centre for worship, retreat and cultural events linked to the Church of Scotland.
