Lawrence Brownlee will perform at The Queen’s Hall in Edinburgh, United Kingdom on August 12, 2026. Brownlee is an internationally acclaimed tenor specializing in bel canto repertoire – a lyrical Italian operatic style emphasizing beauty of tone and vocal agility, particularly flourishing during the 18th and early 19th centuries. He is widely recognized for his interpretations of Rossini roles such as Count Almaviva and Edgardo, but his performances also encompass French and English opera, as well as art song.
The Queen’s Hall is a prominent concert venue located in Edinburgh city centre. Originally built in 1979 as a church hall for Augustine United Church, it was converted into a dedicated performance space in 1988. The building retains many original architectural features of the former church, including its impressive vaulted ceiling and stained-glass windows, contributing to its distinctive acoustic properties. It hosts a diverse range of events including classical music concerts, jazz performances, folk music, comedy shows and talks. The hall has a capacity of approximately 900 seated or 1600 standing.
