The Hallé, a renowned British symphony orchestra with a distinguished history dating back to 1848, will perform at Bridgewater Hall in Manchester on January 14, 2027. The orchestra is celebrated for its broad repertoire encompassing classical standards alongside contemporary works, and has a particular association with the music of Elgar and Vaughan Williams. Historically, The Hallé pioneered concert series accessible to working-class audiences and maintains a commitment to musical education.

Bridgewater Hall, opened in 1996, is Manchester’s international concert hall and home to both The Hallé and the BBC Philharmonic. Designed by architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, the hall is noted for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through a ‘room within a room’ construction – an inner acoustic shell suspended within the main structure. This design minimizes external noise interference and optimizes sound reflection.

The hall’s construction addressed a long-standing need for a dedicated performance space in Manchester capable of accommodating large orchestral ensembles and providing an optimal listening experience. It replaced the Free Trade Hall as the city's primary concert venue, offering significantly improved facilities for performers and audiences alike.
