The Hallé, founded in 1848 by Charles Hallé, is a British symphony orchestra renowned for its expansive repertoire spanning classical standards to contemporary works. Historically, the orchestra has been associated with the performance of German Romantic composers like Beethoven, Brahms and Wagner, but regularly presents music from all periods and by diverse composers. It maintains a strong commitment to commissioning new pieces and engaging with educational outreach programs.

The concert on December 5th, 2026 will take place at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. Opened in 1996, the hall was designed by Renton Howard Wood Levin and is celebrated for its exceptional acoustics. Its design specifically addressed previous acoustic shortcomings experienced in Manchester’s existing performance spaces. The hall’s interior features a predominantly concrete structure clad in birch and incorporates extensive use of natural light.

Bridgewater Hall is home to the Hallé orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic orchestra and hosts a variety of other musical performances throughout the year. The venue's construction was partially funded through public subscription and grants, reflecting significant community support for establishing a world-class concert hall in the city. The hall's capacity is approximately 2,376 seats.
