Experience The Hallé live on October 8th
The Hallé, founded in 1848 by Charles Hallé, is a British symphony orchestra renowned for its broad repertoire encompassing classical standards alongside contemporary works. Historically, the orchestra has been associated with the performance of German Romantic composers like Beethoven and Brahms, but its programming now extends to include 20th and 21st-century compositions and a commitment to showcasing diverse musical voices. The Hallé also maintains a strong choral tradition through the Hallé Choir.
The concert on October 8th, 2026 will take place at Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. Opened in 1996, Bridgewater Hall was specifically designed as a concert venue to address Manchester’s lack of a dedicated large-scale orchestral hall. Its acoustics were a primary consideration during construction, employing a ‘shoebox’ design favoured for its natural reverberation and clarity – similar to Vienna’s Musikvereinssaal and Boston Symphony Hall.
The hall features a main auditorium seating approximately 2,345 people and is constructed with Canadian maple and birch plywood.
