The Baylor Project will perform at the Shalin Liu Performance Center in Rockport, Massachusetts on August 27, 2026. The Baylor Project is a dynamic ensemble led by vocalist Jean Baylor and drummer Marcus Baylor. Their music blends jazz, R&B, and gospel influences, often incorporating elements of contemporary pop and soulful arrangements. They are known for their tight musicianship, improvisational skill, and emotionally resonant performances. The group formed in 2017 after years of individual successful careers in the music industry; Jean having been part of the acclaimed group Zhane, and Marcus a highly sought-after drummer.

The Shalin Liu Performance Center opened in 2009 and is renowned for its exceptional acoustics and intimate setting. Designed by William Rawn Associates, Architects, the hall is specifically engineered for unamplified music, prioritizing natural sound projection. It’s situated on a picturesque waterfront location in Rockport, offering views of Sandy Bay. The center hosts a diverse range of performances including classical music, jazz, chamber music, and world music events. Its design intentionally fosters a close connection between performers and audience members – seating approximately 330 people – creating an immersive concert experience.
