La Seine Musicale opened in 2017 and is a significant cultural venue located on Île Seguin, an island in the Seine river west of Paris. Designed by architect Jean Nouvel, the venue features a distinctive billowing roof structure intended to resemble sails. It houses two main performance spaces: the Grande Salle, with a capacity of approximately 6,000, and the Petite Salle, which accommodates around 1,150 people. La Seine Musicale hosts a diverse range of events including concerts, exhibitions and festivals; it aims to be a multidisciplinary space dedicated to contemporary artistic expression.
