Immanuel Wilkins is a contemporary American jazz saxophonist and composer gaining recognition for his emotionally resonant and spiritually-inclined approach to the genre. His music often blends elements of post-bop, free improvisation, and gospel influences, characterized by intricate compositions, dynamic interplay with his ensembles, and a distinctive alto saxophone tone. He frequently explores themes of Black American identity, faith, and personal experience within his work. Wilkins has released several critically acclaimed albums including “Omega” and “The 7”.
New Morning is a renowned jazz club located in the 10th arrondissement of Paris, France. Established in 1982 by Jean-Luc Rebout and Pierre-Alain Rothemberg, it quickly became a pivotal venue for both established international jazz artists and emerging French talent. The club’s intimate setting – seating approximately 250 people – fosters a close connection between performers and audience.
