Experience SWR Symphonieorchester live on July 2nd
SWR Symphonieorchester, based in Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate, is recognized for its broad repertoire spanning from Baroque to contemporary works, with a particular strength in German Romantic and 20th/21st-century music. The orchestra frequently commissions new pieces and collaborates with internationally renowned soloists. Its sound is generally described as possessing both power and nuance, reflecting its dual leadership structure with principal conductors.
The concert on July 2nd, 2026, will take place at the Liederhalle Stuttgart. Originally constructed between 1913 and 1915, the Liederhalle was conceived as a “house of song” – a multi-functional venue dedicated to musical performance and civic gatherings. Designed by architect Eugen Leibbrand, it was intended to fill a need for a large concert hall in Stuttgart.
Over time, the Liederhalle has expanded; the Silbersaal (Silver Hall) remains the primary concert space known for its excellent acoustics and ornate Art Nouveau design.
