Kian Soltani, a highly regarded Iranian-German cellist, will perform at the Liederhalle Stuttgart on October 26, 2026. Soltani is known for his intensely expressive and technically brilliant interpretations of both classical and contemporary repertoire. His playing is frequently described as possessing a rich tonal palette and a deeply personal approach to musical phrasing, drawing comparisons to artists like Rostropovich and Casals. He often performs solo with major orchestras internationally and is also an active chamber musician.

The Liederhalle Stuttgart is a significant concert venue with a history dating back to its initial construction in 1860 as a gift from King Charles I of Württemberg to the city’s singing association (Liederkranz). Originally designed primarily for choral performances – hence the name ‘Liederhalle’ meaning ‘song hall’ – it has evolved into a multi-faceted cultural center. Following damage during World War II, the building underwent extensive reconstruction and expansion in the 1960s, led by architect Paul Bonatz.
