City Halls is a significant concert venue in Glasgow, Scotland, originally constructed in 1909 as part of a civic centre complex. Designed by William Binnie Simpson, it’s notable for its Baroque Revival architectural style and its prominent location near Glasgow Cathedral. The main hall boasts excellent acoustics and has hosted a diverse range of performances since its opening, including orchestral concerts, chamber music recitals, and choral events.
The building underwent substantial refurbishment in the early 2000s to improve facilities and accessibility while preserving its original character. It remains an important cultural hub for the city and is regularly used by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra alongside visiting national and international artists. The hall's capacity is approximately 1,300 seats.
