City Halls occupies a significant place within Glasgow's cultural landscape. Originally constructed in 1889 as part of the International Exhibition held in Kelvingrove Park, the building was later dismantled and rebuilt in its current location on Candleriggs in 1900. Designed by William B. Black, it served initially as a municipal hall and courtroom before being repurposed primarily as a concert venue. The building is noted for its ornate Victorian architecture and excellent acoustics. It is currently managed by Glasgow Life, the cultural organisation responsible for delivering culture and sport services on behalf of Glasgow City Council.
