Experience Royal Scottish National Orchestra live on May 2nd
The Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) is scheduled to perform at the Glasgow Royal Concert Hall on May 2nd, 2027. The RSNO is Scotland’s national orchestra, renowned for a broad repertoire spanning classical works from the Baroque period through to contemporary compositions. While historically rooted in traditional orchestral performance, the ensemble frequently incorporates Scottish works and collaborates with artists across diverse genres, including film and popular music.
The Glasgow Royal Concert Hall opened in 1990 and quickly became a landmark venue for musical performance in Scotland. Designed by architects RMJM, its auditorium is notable for its exceptional acoustics, achieved through careful consideration of its shape and materials. The hall hosts a wide range of events beyond orchestral concerts, including jazz, rock, pop, and traditional Scottish music. It is home to both the RSNO and Scottish Symphony Orchestra and features two main spaces: the main auditorium with a capacity of approximately 2,300 and the smaller New Auditorium. The building’s design also incorporates significant public art installations. The venue plays a central role in Glasgow’s cultural life and contributes significantly to the city’s reputation as a hub for the performing arts.
