Lantaren Venster is a cultural center situated on the Kop van Zuid peninsula in Rotterdam. Originally constructed in 1953 as a maritime indoor swimming pool – hence “Lantaren” (lantern) referencing the lights above the pool, and “Venster” (window) relating to its glass structure – it was repurposed in the 1980s into a venue for film, music, dance, and other performing arts. The building underwent significant renovation and expansion in the early 2000s.
