He currently serves as Music Director of the Brussels Philharmonic and Principal Guest Conductor of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra.
Roy Thomson Hall opened in 1982 and is Toronto’s primary concert hall. Designed by Elkovich & Associates and Mathers & Platt Architects, it’s renowned for its exceptional acoustics – consistently ranked among the best in the world. The hall was originally named New City Hall Concert Hall but was renamed in honour of Roy Thomson, whose family foundation provided significant funding for its construction. It’s home to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and hosts a wide range of performances including classical music concerts, popular music shows, and other events.
