American Banjo Camp is an annual event dedicated to the five-string banjo and related traditional American music. Established in 2007 by Eli Gilbert, it provides intensive instruction from prominent banjo players and musicians across various styles—Scruggs style, clawhammer, melodic—and related instruments like guitar, mandolin and bass. The camp typically attracts students of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced players. Held in Port Orchard since 2018, the camp utilizes facilities at the Olympic College campus offering classrooms, dormitories and performance spaces. Evening concerts featuring renowned artists are a regular component of the camp experience alongside daily workshops and jam sessions.
