Special Consensus is scheduled to perform at American Banjo Camp 2026, taking place in Port Orchard, Washington on September 12, 2026. The band is known for its progressive bluegrass sound, characterized by intricate arrangements, tight harmonies, and a blend of traditional repertoire with original compositions. For over four decades, Special Consensus has maintained a reputation for instrumental virtuosity and a commitment to showcasing the banjo’s versatility within the bluegrass genre.

American Banjo Camp is an annual event dedicated to the five-string banjo and related traditional music forms. Established in 2007 by Eli Gilbert, the camp offers intensive instruction from renowned banjo players and musicians across various styles – Scruggs style, melodic style, clawhammer, and more. It caters to players of all skill levels, from beginners to advanced. The camp typically features workshops, jam sessions, individual lessons, and evening concerts. Port Orchard was selected as the location starting in 2024 due to facilities available at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and proximity to Seattle-Tacoma airport. The camp aims to foster a supportive learning environment while celebrating banjo music's rich heritage.
