Special Consensus is scheduled to perform at American Banjo Camp 2026, taking place in Port Orchard, Washington on September 10, 2026. The band is known for its highly refined and consistently innovative bluegrass music, blending traditional repertoire with original compositions. They’ve been performing for over four decades, earning six International Bluegrass Music Association awards and consistently ranking among the top bluegrass bands internationally. Their sound is characterized by intricate arrangements, strong vocal harmonies, and instrumental proficiency across banjo, guitar, mandolin, and bass.

American Banjo Camp is an annual event focused on intensive instruction in three-finger style banjo playing and related musical traditions. Established in 1995 by Eli Gilbert, the camp attracts students of all skill levels – from beginners to advanced players – from across the United States and internationally. The camp typically features a faculty of renowned banjo instructors alongside evening concerts showcasing prominent bluegrass artists. The location rotates; Port Orchard will host the event for the first time in 2026 utilizing facilities available within the city. The camp’s curriculum extends beyond banjo technique to include workshops on songwriting, improvisation, and ensemble playing.
