Usher Hall opened in 1879 and is Edinburgh’s premier concert venue. Designed by Robert Rowand Anderson, the hall was built following a public subscription initiated by Sir Andrew Usher to provide a suitable space for musical performances in the city. Its acoustics have been consistently praised and underwent significant refurbishment between 2009-2011 to further enhance them and improve facilities. The Hall is renowned for its ornate Victorian architecture and has hosted numerous internationally acclaimed orchestras, soloists, and ensembles throughout its history. It holds Category A listed building status recognising its national importance in Scotland's architectural heritage.
