Shai Maestro is a contemporary jazz pianist known for his lyrical and emotionally resonant improvisations. His musical style blends influences from the classical tradition with a deeply personal approach to jazz harmony and rhythm, often drawing inspiration from his Israeli heritage and experiences living in New York City. He frequently performs solo and as a bandleader, showcasing both original compositions and interpretations of standards.

Wiltz Castle, the venue for the concert, boasts a rich and complex history. Originally constructed in the early 17th century by Jean VI of Bridel, it underwent significant transformations throughout its existence. The castle served as a residence for prominent families and experienced periods of both prosperity and decline. During World War II, it was used as a hospital by the German army, and later became a temporary refuge for American soldiers during the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944 – January 1945.

Following extensive renovations completed in 2015, Wiltz Castle now functions as a cultural center hosting various events including concerts, exhibitions, and conferences. The restored castle grounds and interior offer a historically significant and aesthetically compelling setting for artistic performances.
