Émile Parisien is a French clarinetist and composer known for his distinctive approach to jazz, blending traditional swing with elements of contemporary improvised music and influences from classical composition. His playing is characterized by technical virtuosity, harmonic exploration, and a lyrical sensibility. He frequently leads his own ensembles, often featuring unconventional instrumentation and arrangements, and has collaborated with a diverse range of artists across genres.
Philharmonie Luxembourg opened in 2005 and is the primary concert hall for classical music in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Designed by architects Bollinger + Grohmann, the building is recognized for its modern architectural style and exceptional acoustics. The hall houses two primary venues: the Grande Salle, seating approximately 1,300 people, and the Chamber Music Hall, accommodating around 310.
The Philharmonie Luxembourg isn't solely a performance space; it also functions as a cultural center offering educational programs and workshops. It serves as the home base for the Orchestre National de Luxembourg (Luxembourg National Orchestra) and hosts an extensive program of international classical music performances throughout the year. The venue regularly features prominent soloists and ensembles from around the world, contributing significantly to the country’s artistic landscape.
