Experience Roomful of Teeth live on November 29th
Roomful of Teeth will perform at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag on November 29, 2026. The ensemble is recognized for its innovative vocal music, often described as post-classical and characterized by extended vocal techniques. These techniques include utilizing non-traditional vocal production methods like overtone singing, multiphonics, and a broad range of textural sounds beyond conventional singing. Founded in 2009 by composer Caroline Shaw, the group gained prominence after winning the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2013 for Shaw’s composition “Partita for Eight Voices,” which was specifically written for them. Their repertoire extends beyond this work to encompass commissioned pieces and collaborations with diverse composers.
The Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (Royal Conservatory of The Hague) is a highly regarded institution for higher education in music, established in 1886. It offers programs spanning classical music, jazz, pop music, opera, and artistic teaching. Historically rooted in private music schools dating back to the 19th century, it received royal designation in 1917.
