Ranky Tanky will perform at Joe Riley Waterfront Park in Charleston, South Carolina on July 4, 2026. The group presents a unique blend of Gullah traditions, jazz, and soul music. Formed in 2017, Ranky Tanky—a Gullah phrase meaning “work hard and play hard”—features the talents of Quinton Chandler, Clay Ross, Kevin Hamilton, and Charlton Singleton. Their performances often incorporate storytelling and celebrate the rich musical heritage of the South Carolina Lowcountry.

Joe Riley Waterfront Park opened in 2007 and is a central public space in Charleston. Named for former Mayor Joseph P. Riley Jr., who championed its creation during his lengthy tenure, the park is known for its iconic pier extending into Charleston Harbor, offering views of Fort Sumter and Castle Pinckney. It’s a popular venue for community events and festivals throughout the year. The park’s design incorporates elements reflecting Charleston’s maritime history and features landscaping with native plants. Its location along Concord Street makes it easily accessible within the historic downtown area. The park regularly hosts large-scale public gatherings, including the city's annual Fourth of July celebration.
