Protomartyr is a Detroit-based post-punk band formed in 2010. Their music is characterized by a stark, minimalist sound featuring driving basslines, angular guitar work, and Joe Casey’s distinctive, often spoken-word vocal delivery. Lyrically, their songs frequently explore themes of urban decay, alienation, and societal anxieties with a darkly humorous and intellectual bent. The band has released several critically acclaimed albums including *Protomartyr*, *The Agent Intellect*, and *Guests*.

The Aladdin Theater, located in Portland, Oregon, originally opened as a Masonic Temple in 1926. It underwent several transformations over the decades, functioning as a vaudeville house and a movie palace before falling into disrepair. Renovated in the late 1990s, it now operates primarily as a live music venue hosting a variety of national and regional acts. The theater retains much of its original architectural detailing including ornate plasterwork and decorative elements. It has a standing capacity of approximately 650 people and is known for its intimate atmosphere and good acoustics. The Aladdin Theater is situated on Southeast Milwaukie Avenue within the city’s vibrant entertainment district.
