WITCH, the Zambian rock band originally active in the 1970s and recently experiencing a resurgence, will perform at Revolution Hall in Portland, Oregon on September 5, 2026. Their music is often categorized as Zamrock – a unique blend of psychedelic rock, funk, and traditional Zambian musical elements. Formed in Lusaka, WITCH (We Intend To Create Havoc) gained regional popularity during Zambia’s post-independence era before largely disappearing from the international music scene until their rediscovery in the 2010s. They continue to tour and release new material, maintaining a sound rooted in their original style while incorporating contemporary influences.

Revolution Hall itself is a historic venue located in the Buckman neighborhood of Portland. Originally built as a high school in 1912, it served as John Adams High School until 2016. Following extensive renovations, it reopened as a multi-use event space encompassing a concert hall with a capacity of approximately 800 standing or 600 seated attendees, alongside retail spaces and offices.
