Experience Pekka Kuusisto live on March 11th
Pekka Kuusisto will perform at Usher Hall in Edinburgh on March 11, 2027. Kuusisto is a Finnish violinist and conductor known for his adventurous and boundary-crossing musical approach. His performances frequently blend classical repertoire with folk music influences, improvisation, and contemporary compositions. He often performs without a conductor, leading orchestras from the violin, and is recognised for his energetic stage presence and commitment to innovative programming. He has commissioned numerous works and actively seeks to broaden the audience for classical music.
Usher Hall opened in 1897 and is Edinburgh’s premier concert venue. Designed by Robert Rowand Anderson, it’s renowned for its exceptional acoustics and ornate Victorian architecture. The hall was built following a public subscription initiated by Andrew Usher, a local brewer, who wished to provide the city with a suitable space for large-scale musical events. Throughout its history, Usher Hall has hosted a wide range of performances including orchestral concerts, choral works, chamber music recitals, and popular music acts. It is the home of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the Edinburgh International Festival regularly utilises the space.
